$200 PC Build

Bits and bobs build #1

This is my first build/transformation for YouTube - the sub $200 gaming PC.

I bought this kit as the parts to run my Arcade cabinet build - I want to do a bit more than just run Pac Man, so I.m not too fussed about the aesthetic as I'll be installing it in a big MDF box!

The guts of the build is a Fujitsu office machine, which was purchased for $80 from eBay.  It has

  • an Intel i4570 (4 cores, 4 threads) which although 7 years old will run at a base clock of 3.2 Ghz and boost to 3.6 Ghz

  • a 4 Gb stick of DDR3 Ram

  • a 1 Tb Seagate HDD (wiped)

  • the proprietary PSU provides 290 Watts

  • and the Fujitsu motherboard is Micro ATX format - so could be chucked in cheap case

To upgrade I installed:

  • A 2 x 4 Gb set of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 - $26

  • and an ASUS GTX 1050Ti, which cost $85

So my total outlay is $190, I did also install a 240 Gb Kingston SSD (https://amzn.to/31uDZkg) - but that's optional.

Bench-marking demonstrated playable frame rates (60 fps +) at 1080p medium settings in Fortnite, Apex Legends and Projects Cars 2.  I also edited the video using Davinci Resolve on the machine - so it's capable of that too.

Check out the video below for detailed build guide and testing - I'm really happy with it, and it can definitely cope with Street Fighter V in my Cab!
